Come sit with me awhile.
Oh, I’m glad you chose to come see me! Come sit down and make yourself comfortable.
Santa has probably told you a thing or two about me already. I hope he was behaving himself when he did! He does like to tell stories—and I might know a few about him that he hasn’t told you!
You know, Christmas looks a little different from where I sit. Santa can tell you all about sleighs and reindeer and what goes on in that workshop of his. I love those things too, of course. But some of my favorite parts of Christmas happen much closer to home—families together, children underfoot, something good coming from the kitchen, decorations that come out year after year, and those little things we do for someone simply because we love them.
And children! Oh, the questions you ask! I think that may be one of my favorite things about you. You notice things we grown-ups sometimes overlook—and you’re not the least bit shy about asking why. So if there are things you’ve wondered about, perhaps we can talk about those too.
We have plenty of time. Shall I tell you a story first?
